Is any one keeping a species count?

So since I was little I always have kept track of how many species of fish I have caught and what my biggest of each was.

As of now I am at around 62 give 1 or 2.

I know Florida has a lot more diversity in fish species and those reefs are packed full of odd shaped bright colors fish of all sorts.

So does any one else keep track?

I was keeping them in my head until last year and then made an excel spread sheet with size, date, length, weight, location and bait.

I update it about every six months or when I want to add a new one sooner.

Why do you get mixed up?

I keep track of all of my personal best catches, but only worthy fish. Biggest fish or sharks caught. Not gonna bother adding my personal best flounder that's only half a pound. :lol: Best snag, best fish on lure, live bait, etc.

Just an average fisherman.

Looks Like we have kind of the same ideas....see my posts in "HOW CAN WE IMPROVE " thread.[Shark Log}
But we could just as easily keep one for all others too

Rene DeDios kept an extensive log of every shark that he caught that included anything from tide, temperature, wind speed, moon phases, and much more. His preciseness was a key component to his success.

There! THAT is what I'm talking about;
In the "HOW Can We Improve? " Thread;
I was saying there are VOLUMES of info here ,the best ever seen,but it's all spread out ; think about the advantages of CONCENTRATING it. The BEST SHARK HUNTERS in Florida are HERE,that means in the World,
if there was a " SHARK LOG" in one continuous thread,[in ONE spot] , just imagine what you could do with it, how you could pattern Sharks,
