IGFA records for Spinner or Lemon?
My buddy Pete on here got me recently interested in the IGFA line class records. After looking at a few of the hammerheads and realizing a couple of them are beatable, I'm trying to find out what the Lemon and Spinner sharks are. Anyone on here a member? I was planning on joining, but I'm going to wait till after the new year so I dont get hit twice with charges. I know the world record is 405 on a Lemon and 208 on a Spinner, but just trying to get the lower weights. Thanks for any feedback.
Yeah, I see the Hammer is only 402 at 20lb test, and 544 at 50lb....those are definitely beatable.
The Tiger records are ridiculous. 840lb on 16lb line?? That means it probably weighed just under 1,000 before the gafs were sunk in her....I'd love to know the story on that one. 908lb at 20lb test. The 50lb class is only 1268, thats very beatable.
If you find any Lemon or Spinner records let me know, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks buddy!
My 380 was 11ft, pretty short, but wider than a bull shark. I had to kill a lemon for a shark tourny a few years ago that was 12 and a half, but only weighed 277. Heres a picture of the 380.

Thanks for the numbers, much appreciated. You might want consider joining and start knocking a couple down. If you come across any Lemon or Spinner records let me know, thanks!
I joined now after hearing what some of the records were, and I though I could break them. Especially since I already have, for some of them.
The spinner and lemon shark records don't have any junior records or specific line records. I asked a guy at the IGFA and he told me that they don't support the killing of sharks for records. They only have their respected all-tackle records: spinner shark 94.6 kg (208 lb 9 oz) Port Aransas, Texas , USA 12/13/2009 Raymond F. Ireton
lemon shark 183.7 kg (405 lb 0 oz) Buxton, North Carolina , USA 11/23/1988 Ms. Colleen Harlow
Chip , Like I said earlier , it's all a time thing ! Sooner or later the right shark along with the right conditions will present themselves to ya ! The big Tigers are so very easy if you fish them the way I told ya how the Aussies do it ! They paid attention and capitalized on a certain behavior of the shark ! Most Big game Austailian anglers will not fish with more than 30lb test for the big girls for this very reason ! The Hammer , Bull & Lemmons are a different story . I wish we had the size that the Florida Crowd has been blessed with ! take your time , Breathe and wait ! It will happen sooner or later !
the NC state record lemon is higher then the one recognized as the igfa world record, 420 I think from Kure Beach pier years ago. There was a couple lemons in this class caught in 09 in NC in the same day, according to the reported length and girth measurements.
What is the IGFA spinner? This week we have caught one @ 8'2" and one @ 8'. the 8'2" was pregnate. we released both. no less than 250lbs.
