YOU GOT THE FEVER ,SO GO FOR IT !!YOU'RE ONLY YOUNG ONCE,,,MY HAT'S OFF TO YOU- IT REMINDS ME OF MY YOUNGER DAYS TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH RENE ,,,,BUT I NEVER COULD ----HE WAS WILLING TO GIVE UP EVERYTHING MATERIAL AND FAMILY LIFE AND CREATURE COMFORTS FOR THE TOTAL PURSUIT OF BIG SHARKS AND HE PUT ME TO SHAME ,,,,,,,,,HE WAS THAT FOCUSED ,THAT DETERMINED ,THAT DEDICATED TO BEING #1,THE BIG KAHUNA AS HE CALLED HIMSELF .I COULD NEVER GIVE UP THAT MUCH ALTHOUGH I TRIED and I try still.
NOT MANY REALLY
IT'S JUST NOT REALISTIC FOR THE MAJORITY.
THERE ARE MANY HURDLES TO THAT BEING POSSIBLE,,,first of all you have to be single or childless, then have to have a job that you get off work early enough to be able to get your gear together, call to see who can fish that day because shark fishing is a tough job WHEN ALONE,then you have to secure bait -(hopefully fresh),then you have travel time to get to the beach, pier or bridge ,,,quite a feat if you can fish every day.
I've thought of my Retirement and i'm thinking along those lines ;that is that wherever i choose to live after retirement will have to be on a beachfront condo, apartment or house (if affordable which is often not the case)so I can fish 3 to 4 times a week .
Herein lies the SECRET TO CATCHINJG THE BIGGEST SHARKS =FISHING AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND BEING PREPARED CORRECTLY WHEN THE BIG ONE FINDS YOUR BAIT.
Thanks for the post Joe.

I do some type of fishing nearly every day..I only fish for sharks 2-3 times a week though, how often I shark fish depends more on the conditions and I don't even bother going shark fishing unless I have about 8 hours to fish that day. But I live close to brackish water canals and fish in them quite a bit for whatever I can get, mostly snook and big jacks.
Once the weather breaks I fish 3-4 nights a week at local lakes and rivers. My buddies here think I am nuts and get sick of me bugging them to go. Big cats are my specialty and my foundation. Last year I drove or rode 600 miles to the coast 8 times and spent 30+ nights on the beach. As a kid my little brothers and I would ride our bikes miles to fish almost every day in the summer. We had nobody to teach us really and did not break any records but we loved it all the same. Fishing every day is a dream of mine for the future. If I can pull it off I sure will. Those of you who have it in reach right now should seize the day, every day!!
Chris
I'm with ya there, I dream about it every night. I live less than 30min from navare so I try to stay as long as possible so not to waist gas. My business is seasonal so i fish every day possible (weather permitting) dureing the winter and fall. I do not go if the wind is howling streight down the beach, or it is just too rough. In the spring I usually fish 3 nights a week, all night. That is if the weather permits. Jellously strikes me deep when i see someone who dont have to work and can fish every day. Almost enough to make ya hate them. Last week i started working and cant take a day off, so i doged it off for the week, its about to kill me. It was a long week and tonight will break the bad streek. fishing tonight, work or not, I gota tuffen up. The older ya get the harder it is to get off the couch after a long days work.

I am sure that with age it gets tougher to get goin' but hell I'm not even old and it is still tough sometimes to be able to get the energy to get goin' and make it to the beach to shark fish after working 8-10 hrs..especially if you're workin' the next morning hell it makes it a little tough for me to get out of bed to get to work on time, I try to have my work schedule so that I work longer shifts and fewer days, more days to fish..same with my classes I'm takin' as well..but I try to do a little snook fishing in my neighborhood canals for an hour or so several times per week because its more relaxing type of fishing not as hard of work as sharkin' no transporting all the heavy gear down to the spot and all that, no long hours, no long drive home from the beach if I get skunked, easier for me to wake up for work the next morning
I am very thankful that I have the means and environment to fish everyday. I am 'shark sandwiched' by the intracoastal waters and the big BIG ocean. I never take it for granted though. Just last night I dropped a line under Hollywood bridge and got my cuda lure BLASTED within 30 minutes. It was all I needed and went to bed to fish another day.
