How Do I Handline Shark?

TC.Orlando gave me the inspiration to set up a Cuban yo-yo for shark fishing. The idea sounded great, inexpensive, easy to pack and carry, and the fight sounds like it could be an incredible experience. So I went to the tackle shop and spent $15 for my new fishing setup, complete with 350 yards of 100 lb. test mono.

I went to try it out yesterday. I swam it out about 150 to 200 yards, got back to shore and I didn't know what to do next.

So I sat here with the reel in my hand waiting for a bite, keeping tension against the surf. But I was thinking to myself that there must be a better way. You guys have any ideas on how to soak a bait with a Cuban yo-yo hand line?

You could stick a PVC pipe/rodholder in the sand then slide the yoyo over it and when the yoyo gets hits used two gloved hands to make pressure on the yoyo against the pipe to slow your shark down ,,,,,or you can buy a Penn Senator....LOL.
