where in NC? I am in the mountains but fish NC, SC, and FL

don't expect the amount of hits per week in NC that you get on average in FL, but there are plenty of sharks to be caught most of the year. The mullet run in October is usually a nice peak in action

I was thinking around Holden or Wilmington

after mid Sept you can stay on the beach 24/7 at Ft Fisher, and it is one of the few drive on beaches which is nice not to have to carry your gear. It is right in front of Wilmington.

Holden is fairly shallow, and so is Sunset and Ocean Isle.

sharks are absent most of the NC coast from December-April, there can be pockets of warm water around cape hatteras in december and january that are warmer then any other inshore water in the carolinas, or even GA, and it will hold sharks when it happens.
