Harrassment by Park Ranger or bias officials

We were harrassed yesterday by of all people a Park Ranger while putting 4 big rods out.No chumming involved. Here's a harassment statute one should carry around and a code.He said shark fishing on the beaches was illegal in Florida . He threatened us by saying he was going to call FWC, we stood our grounds, challenged him with the code (he was pissed and walk away with his tail between his legs). We continue to fish with many runs and a little 5 ft bull.

Statute Title XXVIII
NATURAL RESOURCES; CONSERVATION, RECLAMATION, AND USE Chapter 372
WILDLIFE View Entire Chapter

372.705 Harassment of hunters, trappers, or fishers.--

(1) A person may not intentionally, within a publicly or privately owned wildlife management or fish management area or on any state-owned water body:

(a) Interfere with or attempt to prevent the lawful taking of fish, game, or nongame animals by another.

(b) Attempt to disturb fish, game, or nongame animals or attempt to affect their behavior with the intent to prevent their lawful taking by another.

(2) Any person who violates this section commits a Level Two violation under s. 372.83.

History.--s. 2, ch. 90-170; s. 27, ch. 2006-304.

A video camera is a good thing to have in that position. People like that are just haters. They can't be happy so when they find some one having a good time its on. I have seen it happen many times on many diffrent occasions. I have worked in recreation my whole life and have seen some bad stuff. I deal with everyones weekend drinking habits and watch the law deal with it all. If the beach is trashed when ya get there clean it up and that makes a diffrence and keep a path for everyone to walk pass without ducking lines and stumbling over left over bait. One thing I have noticed is when an official comes up on a group of young folks and they have beer, the harrasment is on. Good work with the laws and i appreciate the knowlege.

You should file a grievance, it is your right to do so, for harrasment and making a public beach/park "a hostile enviroment"

no beers, thrash, chum etc, we were just setting up in the late afternoon towards evening....he said kids swim around here etc and that we were attracting sharks, my buddy told him the sharks already live there. That's the problem when you put out 14/0's. Some snowbird probably walk by us and went and complained to him.
