The museum is waiving $10 entry fees to participate in 2012 AAMD Art Museum Day. Miami Art Museum and Orlando Museum of Art also are participating. No coupons are necessary.

Get in the swim with "Sharks," which opened May 12. Other fun activities planned include a free screening of the children’s film “Shark Riddle” as well as a 2 p.m. docent-led tour of the second floor galleries. MOA is also offering $25 off registration fees for classes and workshops at the Academy of Art + Design.

“Shark,” on view through January, contains sculptures, photographs and videos from 70 artists exploring all 400 species of the much-maligned ocean predator. A section also explores the impact of “Jaws,” Steven Spielberg’s 1975 thriller still terrorizing beachgoers today.

MOA organized the exhibition, which was curated by New York-based acclaimed wildlife artist Richard Ellis, in conjunction with Nova Southeastern University's Oceanographic Center in Port Everglades.

The companion film “Shark Riddles” features 20 shark species and aims to help kids develop empathy and positive feelings about the animals.

The tour will take you through the captivating and colorful glass works in “Primordial: Paintings and Sculpture by Isabel de Obaldia, 1985-2011.” The Panama City-based artists’ retrospective, on view through May 27, features demons and beasts inspired by pre-Columbian art.

Other exhibition include “Pablo Picaso Ceramics/Carlos Luna Paints,” “All in the Family: Paintings and Works on Paper by Members of the Glackens Family” as well as 6,000 works in the museum’s permanent collection.
