Florida's longest pier Navarre(1545 ft long)Reopens

Its the best built pier I have ever fished. the sides have no poles or obstructions, looks like a pier fisherman built it. The legend of navare pier(Roddie Pate) who has always been a hard core shark fisherman, may have a bit of pull on decisions made about sharkin. Its still up for discussion, i just have to find the time to pirticipate. They have been having shark fishin nights on the weekend but i'v been too busy working to go. As for the shark fishin history of navare pier, not many match it. There used to be a following almost a cult of shark fishermen at navare. I got to fish a few years on the pier and without the knowlege shared i would have never got started. The bigest hammer was a 14'2" female greater by Roddie. I will get some pics when i start fishing it steady dureing the fall. Used to catch some huge duskys like 13' and a big tiger here and there and a mako or two everyonce in a while. Beautifull clear water with alot of fish. the closest pass is 18miles down the beach. Not a bouey in site. maybe things will work out for the good. An effort will be made by me to try to shark fish regulary. Fishing for big sharks off a pier is a bit more challanging at the end of the fight.
