Fellow Tampa Sharkers
I have exciting news. I'm moving from landlocked Kansas to Tampa in 2 weeks. My wife got a Job with Bristol Myers Squibb and were really excited. I have been stuck on shark fever since we started visiting Sanibel for the last 4 years. I caught my first one last year and now I am wanting to really hit it hard once we move.
I am looking for someone that can give me any advice on where to go or start near Tampa or Clearwater. If anyone wants to meet up since I wont know anyone let me know.
No one has any leads on jobs do they?
Not sure what the economy is like where you are, but these tips will help you land ANY job in SWFL, particularly if you are interested in government employment..
1. Dressed to impress is dressed for success!
Let's face it, it's an anti-heterosexual male job market these days, particularly if you are of the European species. Buy yourself a dress. You said you have a wife, she can help you shop for one. You want your dress to be professional, but trendy, fun and flirty..not too conservative. You will also need heels and hosiery and full makeup. Again, your wife can help you with learning to walk in heels and assist you with your look. Attention to detail is crucial. Shaving your body hair isn't necessary, but it will give you a more professional look which is a vital part of success. You'll need a wig, long and big is the way to go. It isn't necessary to remove your wedding ring, but it may help you if a promotion becomes available in the future. If anyone questions you being a real woman, don't sweat it..just say you will be once you finish your series of hormonal injections. This will really propel you to the front of the recruitment line. Remember, you are NOW among the 'constitutionally' protected. Enjoy.
2. It's Allah in a day's work.
Convert to Islam. Change your name to something ridiculously difficult to say that is spelled out like an eye chart. Tell the interviewer you just arrived to America from some overseas 3rd world cess pool without indoor plumbing or hygiene standards.
3. Remember, you are special
Most applications have a segment about how the company is committed to accommodating special needs. Here, specify that you have chronic diarrhea, bad gas, dizziness, a bad back, schizophrenia, social anxiety, ADHD, OCD, XYZ, ABC and make it clear you will call off work at least once per week due to binge drinking. Remember, you were formerly under the assumption that hiring was based on merit, intellect, and education. Welcome to the new America.
4. References and business contacts
Be sure to include all the trendiest political organizations and hate err I mean civil rights groups. La Raza, NAACP, SPLC, ADL, and AIPAC should help get your application noticed.
5. Don't just get your foot in the door, kick that mother****** down!!
After the interview, be sure to make several follow up calls and emails thanking them for their appreciation of your diversity and that you look forward to culturally enriching the workplace. If you are informed that another candidate was hired due to possessing higher qualifications, demand to know the name, race, creed, gender, sexual preference, religion, and national origin. If any of the responses are heterosexual, Christian, white, or male..you may have yourself a grievance to file. Remember, you are now among the 'constitutionally' protected. The old rules of employment based on education, experience, employability, professionalism, and intellect are old news. This is the change we were promised, and these tips should have employers seeking you rather than wasting time getting caught up in the rat race.
400-500 lbs is fine too, Maybe Ill get lucky and the big one i'm looking for.
As for Tarpon J.
That was an interesting synopsis. I'm in a Higher level management position currently. I'm from the Midwest, our work ethic is a little different then other parts of the country. I'm hoping that works in my favor. However, I also don't want to stay in the same field that i'm in, so that would hinder me.
I was just seeing if anyone owned there own business or anything of that nature is looking to fill a position.
But enough of that lets talk sharks.
What sharks are people catching the most of in the Tampa Area.
