I ASKED THEM IF I WAS TO HOOK A MONSTER HAMMER OR TIGER AND I THINK THAT'S A WORLD RECORD WHAT CAN I DO TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DOCK BECAUSE I HAVE TO GO TRU STATE WATER .. There is something else that wasn't mentioned here: You can actually catch a hammerhead in state waters, drag it alive in federal waters, kill it, then do everything else that was already mentioned.
Catching a hammerhead it is not illegal in state waters, harvesting the fish, which includes killing is illegal as of 01-02-2012. So, to make it crystal clear, the killing process is only legal in federal waters, and illegal in state waters but catching is legal in both state waters and federal.
What FWC doesn't tell you is, when they ask you "Where you catch that hammerhead" they mean by that "Catching AND killing aka harvesting". And here you go - now you know the loophole.
Example: You're on the boat, 200yds from shore, hook the monster, apply light pressure to let it run in federal waters, apply heavy drag, bring it to the boat, kill it, tale tie the fish, then do everything else mentioned above.
There is no way for the little guy that doesn't have a boat NOT TO BE MAD on how unfair this crappy new law is. It's like the lawmakers would tell you: "Hey - wanna fish? Go and buy a boat and fish offshore, and let the beach for 'Snow birds!' ". Palm Beach County is even more sneaky - they have a law through which you're in illegality if you're staying on an public beach after 12:00am. The law bans occupy, sleeping or lodging in open between 12:00AM and 5:00AM, which gives to law enforce agencies like sheriff and city police the power to arrest you if you don't comply. In reality they only arrest you if you're hard head with them and do not follow to go away when they tell you. We got kicked from public beaches few times, especially after turtle people on they ATV's don't feel comfortable to drive around the already deployed lines - since they like being on the hard sand near to water.
So, how you fish in Palm Beach county over night? You actually need to get an approval for that, otherwise don't be surprised if you'll be kicked off or worse arrested - by just being on the beach between 12:00AM and 05:00AM.
I have no idea how to get this authorization, but i had the chance to actually read this "sneaky" law.

They can still be caught and released in Florida waters and taken in federal waters." They didn't wrote in that article a phrase like "They can still be caught and released in Florida waters and taken in federal waters where killing aka harvesting is allowed" since that would sound very brutal, but you don't have to be a lawyer to know that state laws don't apply in federal waters which again comes down to - harvesting there is an open business for hammerheads and tigers.
I think it's an exelent post. Every one needs to know about there rights as a common man especially when those rights are un fairly taken. You want to piss and moan at some one do it on face funk. IGFA is behind times and as a landbased sharker we should set our goals at the ILSFA who has evolved with the changing times. Records ant important. We fish cause that is what we dream of, catching fish and going fishing is the important thing.

Wel in Ft-Pierce the beaches are closed at sunset and if you are on the beach after that you are trespassing and they can arrest you. They usally don't they just tell you to leave and if you give them a hard time you get to go to the crow bar hotel.
But you can go to a bar until 2:00 am in the morning. Why don't they close the bars at sunset and leave the beaches open so you can go there with your friends and family.
for them to close fed waters they have to close all fed water around the us .. that's what the fwc told me it wont be that easy they say ....
