Does anyone know if drag rating on reels are performed at full spool or at what spool level?

Full spool, some times they will tell you at strike and full, but other wise it is at full.
The catch is that it is full while still having absolute free spool, so if you sacrifice having free spool, which isn't nessasary for dropping baits with a kayak.

Did a did a manufacture put that in writing or just knowledge that you've gained throughout the years?

Have you ever tried testing your drag to see if you can obtain the drag numbers the manufacturer provides with a freespool?

Both, manufacturers will tell you that's how it is done and I have read it on here plenty.

I have never tested any big reels, but I tested my Shimano Curado 300E and Calcutta 400B.
Both put out 15lbs at full (cranked hard on star drag), but with the free spool all the way tightened I got 17lbs out if it
