cheap reels

he makes his custom hooks that i dont know how they work. lol its to circle hooks with the tips facing each other to it kinda looks like a heart. im yet to understand them.

If it is the same as what we used 30+ years ago the 2 hook set up works great, BUT i wouldn't use that method anymore since many sharks caught with that method get double hooked meaning...1 hook in the top 1 in the bottom, And they die/drown from not being able to pass seawater over there gills...since the 2 hooks pull the jaws shut . If hooked that way.

i saw that 32/0 on ebay a few years back an i saw it once at one of the piers

i dont think it would hold up if he really did catch something but a thats just

its huge it is sapose to hold like a mile of 130

its 2 16/0 put together

the pier i fish (venice pier or sharkys pier) they don't have a restriction. we have a guy that comes out with a custom 32/0 reel he made.

mojo what is the lowest you will go for both of them?

its trash. even if you got a fish that needed a reel that big he would A.die on bottom
or B if you did get him to the pier you wouldnt b able to drop down on the fish like you would need to. the fish would go under easy an pop you off. i am in my prime an that reel is way to heavy an over kill to be effective . this guy is like 50 maybe.

have u seen his "mel hooks" he uses. i dont see how they can catch some thing. it 2 circle hooks welded together with the tips facing each other. so the lip has to slid between the 2 hooks to get hooked.

Some of us did that years agoBUT they didnt weld them they were set up like half a treble hook but loose not actualy welded

ok backon subject. my friend has a old school 6/0 that he said he would sell for 60 bucks and he may have a extra rod for it. is that a good deal? it is the red one to.

he is holding it till i get home in dec. i still need to find a 4/0 tho. or what would you guys recommend for a king fish and other bait fish rod
