Catching porcupines

Spring time in PA is porcupine time for me

I don't kill and eat them or anything, just have fun chasing and catching them.

Its a tag and release thing, they tag me with quills and I release them back to the woods.

Its just good cheap fun and something to do when you live 6 hours from the nearest saltwater.

Years ago, my Rotti got into a scuffle with a porcupine. Not a pretty site. She had quills sticking out of her snout that had to be clipped off with a cutter of some sort. I think I would rather deal with a shark burn then those nasty quills.

They pull out pretty easy as long as they aren't in too deep,I just caught three more last night.I know when dogs get into one they tend to get stuck alot deeper and by the larger quills from the porcupines back.

My dad has always been talking about catching them, the only problem is in my 16 years I have never seen a wild porcupine in California, but when the time comes I will catch it ;)

What about 'Possum?
When we were Kids we used to chase them ,catch them , they'd hiss play"POSSUM" LOL & sometimes you'd run into one that would fight they have some wicked teeth so if you try .....be careful
We caught a big one once years ago, took him in the local bowling alley {right next to a huge cornfield ,], &turned him loose in the bathroom, my buddy started telling folks "Watch out, there's a humongous RAT in the bathroom!!""
We laughed till we lost our breath ,the people that saw him freaked out & came running out,
then when the fun was over we opened the door,he booked, right on out the door across the parkinglot into the cornfield.
