I havent been shark fishing much mostly because I cant catch the bait.. i woke up around 6am today and literally fished till 6 at night, going between 4 different places trying to catch anything, im starting to believe there isnt anything i can catch if i dont own a boat! I threw a heavy metal jig to see if i could catch some sort of jack or bonito as well as switching between atleast 20 different colors and sizes and shapes.. starting at the deerfield beach pier after a couple hours and not having a single hit i changed and went south to pompano, i threw jigs spoond diamond jigs for hours there and their wasnt a single fish, i then drove north to spanish river jap rocks or whatever it is called and still not a single species of fish running anywhere, after a few hours by now its about 430 i decided to go to an inlet to catch the outgoing tide.. and for two hours there was nothing..AAHHH

The changing of the seasons brings about the quarterly shock to most marine species, the bite for everything in a particular area may turn off for anywhere from 2 days to 3 weeks, that's just how the slumps work, if you pay great attention to key bait fish and their activities such as mullet, you will end up in the appropriate time and place. Try the inter-coastal and bay areas, I have heard from friends of big snook, grouper, bluefish, tarpon, and jacks in the backwaters. I am suprised you haven't run into any mackeral.

Just an average fisherman.
