Can someone help with my Avet 80w?

So recently Avet gave me a 4 bolt rod bracket for the Avet 80w. But when I put it on it has room still left between the rod and the bracket. I tighten it all the way. What are some tips I can do to fix that problem?

Use the 2 screw rod bracket.

Home depot stainless steel washers as spacers? If you wanna be fancy put some rubber rings to divide all that metal on metal action.

There's a space about half a inch from the bracket and the rod. I'm thinking about just putting like cardboard there.

Not if you put the washers outside of the back brace part not able to fit through the holes, with the sleeve screw through them but stopped at the top, but it would be hard to find perfect sizes and you may have the screws sticking too far out.

My 14/0 bracket had a bunch of space between the rod and the bracket. I took an old thick solid leather belt and cut it in strips about 2in by 3.5in and stacked like three or four of them between the bracket and rod and tightened it down on them. Now my bracket is nice and tight. I did it for a temporary fix but it worked well enough I kept it that way.

Actually that might work, nevermind. But it would be really hard to try finding the perfect size. But I will try that method too.

Washers and the 2 bolt one won't work. 2 Bolt one has a hook thing to prevent it from putting one of the bolts through and the washers isn't going to help it at all. There's a space about half a inch from the bracket and the rod. I'm thinking about just putting like cardboard there.

There's no reason one of the two clamps shouldn't fit unless you are doing something wrong. There's two sets of holes on the reel. 4 holes that are wider apart, and then 2 that are closer together in middle.

4 screw clamp

2 screw clamp

My two screw clamps have the hook holder thing on a angle unlike yours. Yours is just going straight out. So when I put the two bolt one on it blocks the holes so I can't put one side of the screws in for the 4 bolt one.

It shouldn't be a problem.

Is this the one you have? Notice what screw holes it is in on the reel.

You only need one clamp, EITHER the 2 screw or 4 screw. If you put the bolts in the right holes, they should line up perfectly.

I use rubber gasket material I buy from home depot on all my rods whether they have a gap or not. You can cut them into the width you want to hide them and just stack them to get the thickness needed. Never had an issue doing it this way.

I am a little confused on what the problem is

Some times the studs are to long and the cap nuts will not tighten the bracket. If that is the problem a hacksaw is the answer... I just cut the 4 studs to a shorter length, then when you tighten them down it pulls tight.

Well the reason I got the 4 bolt one is because when I bought my Avet 80w it didn't come with the screws for the 2 bolt one. But the problem with the 4 bolt is its loose on the rod

Call avet and get them to send you four of the correct length screws for a #2 reel seat. The studs you have are for a #4 reel seat which is why they are too big.

Don't let them try to make you pay for them. They should send them for free, especially if you can get past the clueless secretary. If not, I have an extra set I could send you.
