Hey all I'm Brandon mailman, I am planning on building a calcutta bamboo surf shark rod and big game shark rod. Since I am new at doing this i was wondering if anybody might have a dimension on the girth of bamboo and how long each of the two rods should be. I want to keep the surf rod between 11 to 14 feet and I'm not sure about the shark rod I just want it to have optimal ass to it. I'm going to be growing this bamboo from a seed aswell. Right now I use a 14/o senator with a 10ft gatorglass rod that has done me great so far. Just Want to see how a throwback rod would do and to have the cool factor of caching a big one on a rod that i built.planning on doing wire guides with the huge tip top and even using hose clamps for the reel seat with an underwrap. Any help would be awesome thanks.
