Just saw a few guys pull in a 6ft bull at picnic island with a floated out moonfish...
I always wondered if that place was fishable. I wondered about boat traffic and yaking out baits there. Its not super shallow flats?
shallow flats are the best for big bulls our best spot is only like 5 foot deep, weve gotten huge baits picked up on the flats just too many damn rocks... lose every single big bull to pick up the bait

I didn't see the bait..the guy said he used a moonfish...it is a grassy bottom..the guys said they have gotten several bulls bigger that the one they got last night...I was asking abt their set up..all they said. Is YOU WILL SEE! I wasn't impressed...9/0 dawia and 9/0 penn..rods were. What looked to be boat rods didn't check hooks and leader material..they seems like they were. VERY COCKY!! Ladyfish were running and small tippers as well..
Boat traffic is not bad at evening time and u can yak baits out to the channel..its deep bec meisner marine has big boats like the crab boats that coome thru to get worked on. Anyone down to hit it with me?
The bulls are all over the shallows even up here by anclote island, a 9/0 is all you need really in 5ft of water to stop them. I tear em up with my 4 everol.
Guess fever has hit me hard and to see stuff pulled from my area not just stories gets me excited!! Just wanted to share this info and see if anyone wanted to fish...

I'll be fishing off the north skyway bridge thursday if you want to pick up some bait from me. I should have a couple lady fish by sundown. Also, someone at anna maria pier told me catfish is good bait for blacktips, and I can have you a dozen of those, lol. 
About the pier,the channel is not to far out and runs about 28ft deep.Problems,an old Barge for a reef lays out there too.(will cut your line up good)#2-very small pier and everyone will cast over your lines.#3-lots of drunk people fish it........But there are Bulls to be had from that spot.....Dave

Last Fri at sunrise I gigged a few rays and saw many more on Northshore beach behind the tennis courts. Thats when I was being chased around by big bonnetheads! I stuck a huge ray but he got off my gig (the pole flexes too much) couldnt keeep him pinned down. Shad and mullet are out there at sunrise also.
Topwater dm u r right abt the drunks and Everyone has abt 5 rods each..didn't know abt the sunken barge..when I go plan takin my 14ft jonboat and go down to the point near grassflats on backside and run baits out.

Ive used catfish for sharkbait before only thing i caught on them was spinner shark lemons and curse of the nurse
