Bridge fishing problems..

So I was out at big carlos pass the other day and I had another issue ha. I left 2 of my poles up top on the bridge with the lines down ( incase someone tried to snag them and run ) as I was out cast netting bait when I saw a boat slowly pull up to my line. From what I could see it was barely hooked on the side. After messing with the line and pulling away, minutes later they circled back around. I had already yelled at them to leave the line alone and to use the channel in the middle to go through. It wasn't till I got back to my poles that I then realized they had cut my line! I was pretty furious and to make me even more upset I had just put a new leader, hook, and weight on. I saw them off in the distance, waited for them to come back, and justice was served! ha.

Wish I had some good fishing reports for you guys!!

The cheap chiana braid from ebay is the best, in situations like this. 500yds always does the job for good.

I once had a troller snag all three of our rods, after they cut off my buddies line I said "F*** no! I have 80 lb braid, they probably have 30 lb mono." I probably spooled the guy and got a nice trolling set up out of it, he quickly proceeded to speed away

haha ya I wish there was something I could snag them with! Hopefully all these boaters will get the picture and start using the channel in the middle as they should. Until then i'll just throw some catfish at them :P

Or just throw some old bait that has been left in the sun, that might work also :) ;)

The water in the bucket being a tasty mix of rotten chum, yellow water and brown chunky slam would have been hilarious.

Why in the world would a boater feel the need to circle back around after they cut someone's line?

The boater makes a dumb mistake, gets hooked, cuts the line and then come back? Noobs!!!

after fishing this bridge for so many years i have experienced how stupid these boaters are. u all know how a boater flew 40 miles an hour through the bridge and pulled my shark rod in, and ive seen a boater cut off one of my buddies balloons as he was drifting it out, and ive had a boater hit my line, watch it get stuck in his prop, when he knew he hit it and flip me off sayin "o well" . ive almost hooked people in the face on accident because they go under the bridge where my lines are.

While I'd hate for someone to get seriously hurt, It's gonna take a boater getting personally hooked - flesh ripped - and word to get out for boaters to start being careful and watching out for lines from bridges. I'm not saying that someone should make an effort to hurt a boater or go after them. Just saying that unfortunately a nasty accident is going to have to take place before some people will wake up. The good news is that the careful, respectful, watchful boaters will avoid a careless mistake that ends in injury.

We've all got to keep our eyes open for the dummies that are out there. LBSF doesn't need a black eye because of a careless boaters mistake.

OUT ON LAKEWORTH A BOAT WITH TWIN YAMMIS CUT MY DUEL. WHEN I ASKED HIM WHY HE DID THAT HE SHOT ME A BIRD AND SMILED. I TOOK MY PEN 706 WITH 65 BRAID AND TOSSED IT PASSED THE BOAT AND FREE LINED IT INTO HIS PROPS. I TOLD HIM CHECK YOUR PROPS PARTNER. HE RAISED HIS MOTORS AND JUMPED IN A SAID THERE 300 YARDS OF LINE IN MY PROPS. THE BOAT STARTED DREFTING TOWARD SHORE. AND HAD TO START HIS MOTORS UP WITH THE LINE STILL IN HIS PROPS. HIS DAY WAS SPENT A HALF MILE OUT IN FRONT OF THE PIER TO GET THE REST OF THE LINE OUT OF HIS PROPS. IT IS ILLEGAL TO THROW SINKERS AT THE BOATS BUT THERE ARE OTHER WAYS. 8-) 8-) :o :D .
