Bow fishing carp

I went out today with the bow for some carp action. The water was muddy and I lost my shoes in the muck but still did pretty well.

I lost the barbs off my arrow after carp #7 and had to stick them to the bottom or shoot all the way through the body so the arrow would turn sideways and not pull out.I stuck 20 but only got 15 on the rope, they were not huge but still alot of fun.

I only wish we had rays to shoot here in PA.

that's awsome, Here in Germany carp is a game fish. The money fish like bass in the states. I tell germans that we shoot them with bows and they think I am nuts. Wait until I show them the pics. This is going to be fun.

Ebay has everything you need pretty cheap 30 bucks or so.Spool, string and arrows give it a try its a blast.I need to check regulations Im thinking about taking the bow on my next shark trip to stick some rays.

The carp are starting to move into the shallows of Lake Superior. I have tried to catch them before but have had no luck. What do you use to get them? I've tried chicken livers, marshmellows, worms and corn. Do I put it on the bottom or under a float?
Thanks

The best time to catch them is right before or after they spawn.Everyone will tell you something different as far as bait.I have made my own doughballs and tried alot of other stuff but I like a good old can of corn.Take your corn and throw it out one handfull at a time where you plan to cast your line.(CHUM)early morning always seemed to be best for me.You can rig up alot of different ways .I use a medium size hook and just put the corn on one at a time till the hook is covered.Fish the bottom,I use a sliding egg sinker about a foot above the hook with a splitshot to keep it there.Set your drag so the fish can pick it up and run with it.Carp will suck up and spit out the bait alot, wait till they take off and then set the hook.I am in no way a great carp expert but thats how I catch em.Good luck.
