Who will catch the biggest shark of the 2011 mullet run? What shark will it be? Where will it be caught?

I say if someone can freeline a blacktip out and get lucky one night, that can produce a possible monster chasing around all the bait!

You all do good when a big bait run is going on? Up here when the bunker run in acres its hard to catch anything, with that much easy pickings for the game fish, its makes for a tough bite. I guess why would a fish eat something that has funny piercings when there is one that looks normal right next to it.

The way I look at it is... If I had to pick between the steak with a piece of funny steel sticking out of it or the one with out, I know which one I would be eaten.

I guess if the Mullet are not to thick it could cause a nice feeding frenzy. :? :?:

Right on! We had a mad bunker blitz up here in MD and I could not catch a damn thing, even with the live bunker. It was wild to see acres of fish though. To look down under the boat and see the ocean change color with fish. and I was quite surprised on how good those little dudes fought with a snag hook in them.

I tried everything from kite fishing to completely hiding the hook with flouro leaders, it was like a 2 week period with not a click on the baits

One thing I noticed (specifically from pier fishing) is that when one bait is extremely common, the more uncommon bait will be your victim of the day , this is specifically true of the snook at the pier, they will occasionally eat one of the millions of pilchards surrounding the pier, but bring a goggleye or sardine into the mix and they target that fish with extreme accuracy.

My question is about this bunker run, did you try using other baits besides bunkers when they were thick?

and. to answer the question of the post itself: i couldn't tell you who, but i can narrow it down to near one the inlets on in either coast of south florida and i would say most likely a stray tiger, keep those large baits out, someone will get it.

Just an average fisherman.

NOT IF YOU RELEASE IT.THE BAN IS INTENDED TO KEEP ANYONE FROM INTENTIONALLY HARVESTING A TIGER OR HAMMER AND I KNOW THE LAKE WORTH CREW DOES NOT KILL EITHER OF THOSE TWO SPECIES.HEY EDDY ANY HAMMERS BEEN SPOTTED AT THE PIER LATELY?

I notice the same thing on the beach, the snook like a bait that stands out among the schools of bait..if I throw a bigger pilchard into a school of smaller ones it gets nailed, same for a cut piece of ladyfish or striped mojarra the snook will ignore the pilchards and the fly fishermen's feathers they're casting and nail my mojarra or ladyfish chunk.
