That's a very broad question. Can you be more specific?

imo this is where a long rod will give u an advantage on a beach, when the shark is running and ur reel is in free spool i like to let it tighten on itself or if its a slow run i reel reel reel til it gets really tight and then turn around and run with my rod in front of me and whipping the rod tip up. then when the shark feels hooked i turn around and set it normally to ensure that the fish is hooked good and to penetrate its jaw deeper.

The "Runningman" is def the most fun  I point the tip at the fish and crank till the line is tight, then run towards the condos setting the hook sideways every few steps. Works for me :D.

Running man is the way to go. If you're on the bridges though, throw the reel into free spool and let him eat, then slam it into gear reel tight and set up like you normally would on any fish, unless you have room hit him with the running man

it takes all of the stretch out of the line and rams the hook into the sharks jaw

Hey Guys:

I personally feel like the all you need to do is throw the reel into gear. I use Dacron line and as soon as you put the reel into gear you're hooked up. All this hooey about a running man is just that, Hooey. I have been fishing Dacron for over 40 years and I have NEVER had to turn around and run like a wild man over the dunes. Hell, by the time you get done running you're out of breath and winded. Just my 2 cents worth and over 40 years of expirence.

i can imagine that would work with fishing braid line, but where i fish i need a topshot the beach is kinda rough with sandbars and quite a few reefs off certain beaches.
