Saw numerous pictures of rays beaching themselves on the west coast the other day. Looks like we missed out on some easy bait...

Are those batrays?

They look exactly like the batrays we have in California. Is the summer time here they like to do that (normally not with there backs out of the water, but you can see there wings come out), I don't know why, but they will take any bait I give them.

Yeah, frequently. They do it on IRB if youre there enough. Im pretty sure theyre eating sandfleas (mole crabs) and conquitas. If u get one his stomach will be filled with shells. Makes getting bait pretty easy ;).

The cow nose like to come in close like that to eat the baby whiting that swim right along the shoreline. Awesome opportunity to get some good baits.

I watched a school of about 7 one day "Flying "parrallel to the shoreline but going so fast it was amazing, the people who were standing there[ it was about waist deep] just froze when they saw the RAYs, and by then it was too late to do anything anyway ; the Rays were on them & took all kinds of graceful manoevers to avoid hitting the people.
Some would ZIG, some would ZAG , Some ZIGZAGGED!!! It was really some sight!!!

this is an aside, but, I've wanted to ask , has there been ANY incidents since the BP Oil SPILL that could be attributed to the spill?
