yeah broke the bottom of my rod. you know where the rubber piece goes to protect the rod on the but.. it broke off there was so much pressure.

Im going to cut the rod on the end of the but like two inches and put a gimble butt.. i guess is what its called. the one that locks in place.

but yea, over and hour or so of cranking under a lot of damn pressure in low gear.I feel like i ran a marathon.

my question is what happens if you make a 400yard drop..when your reeling in your bait you wont have as much pressure as you did when you put on the line, so without as much pressure would all of your line fit back onto the reel?

I like to think i will never reel a bait back in.

to be honest... I probably will never make a drop that far.. I've been very successful with in 100 yards of the beach. I've seen monster hammers 50 yards of shore before. plenty of times

People tend to forget... Here in FL these "Big" sharks come right in the trauf.I can put you on a spot here in ther river where it's 4 feet of water and hook into 250+ lb bulls all night long.
