How does the 9/0 have the alan tani upgrade I thought that was just fir the 900h seeing as it uses the 9/0 ht100 drags in a daiwa??
Let's not make it complicated, let me make it crystal clear what an drag UPGRADE actually means.
IF and ONLY IF your penn comes already with an HT-100 carbontex drag then in THAT CASE - UPGRADE MEANS - adding Cal's grease on these drags.
IF and ONLY IF your penn doesn't come with an HT-100 carbontex drag then in THAT CASE - UPGRADE MEANS - replacing the current drags with HT-100 carbontex THEN adding Cal's grease on these drags.
If you can grease ANY items - then you can grease ANY drags as well.
You JUST NEED TO REMEMBER two rules - for star type reels DO NOT WIPE THE EXCESS and FOR LEVEL DRAG TYPE REELS WIPE THE EXCESS.
That's it That's ALL!

i was just wondering cuz he said the alan tani upgrade which would refer to what i have which is 5 custom made washers by him and the ht-100 drag setup in a daiwa
Even if you call Penn and ask them to purchase drags, they'll only gonna sell you HT-100, so either you get directly from them, or purchase from other places, they are pretty much the same BUT at different prices.
I kno that that's y I'm askin him alan tani just makes the 5 washer stack to use ht-100 in the daiwa reel
