Built my first rod just finished it up. All it needed was one last coating on it.Finally had some time to do it. (7' 10-17 lb gator glass fast action)

Looking to build a rod for my 80w

I can decide on what to do. Glass or what not?

Any information is appreciated. Thank you

That on "Mudhole" bro? I also am looking to build another rod on a tight budget, as usual  I was close to searching the junkyard for VHF antenna's or something. Considered bamboo but thats not gonna hold up. Looks cool, buts thats all. Can't find real Calcutta or Rattan anywhere here for a functional build.

its on mudhole.. no image but they have it.

I priced out everything.... Even with left overs from my first build, My cart is almost 300 -_-

I might buy an okiaya rod for now. I know a few people that have them and are fairly happy with them . I can get one for 80 shipped to my house.

Yea Man! http://www.mudhole.com/Shop-Our-Catalog/Tuna/S660XXH

I have not pulled on this blank but the LR rods are tough and well rated 6' (80lb) stand up tuna blanks will work well from the beach even with big drags the Avets put out.

Hell for the price it's almost worth trying. CJ I'm coming form a 9' gator glass to a 5'6" rod...
For the price I think it would let me find out if im going to like a shorter rod or not. I do not have the 300 to drop in materials right now this may be an alternative.

I can not find reviews on any of the products.Well I found one review but it got 5 stars.Could have been an employee that wrote up on it.

They make reels as well that put over 80 lbs of drag

I do know the specs or how they are made but the

30w puts 85 http://www.okiayaonline.com/OKIAYA-BLUE ... el-30w.htm

and the 50w puts 105 at full

Never even heard of that but 70 dollars :o GD that is cheap as hell you cant buy the raw aluminum or stainless for that. Just saw they are very close to me... I might have to check out the address on the way to the sand this weekend.

Just in case you want something cheap this rod will give it to you also. 100 bucks http://www.cabelas.com/boat-cabelas-sal ... ds-2.shtml
