Alaskan Salmon Sharks

Anybody ever have a chance to go salmon shark fishing in Alaska? May be my next duty station. My wife REALLY wants to go, and I think I could handle hunting and fishing in Alaska for a few years! She may regret this decision. :D

They get it done from kayaks, big fat slobs of a shark.

Just an average fisherman.

According to this article they go that far North. And they also said they fought them for an hour or more before getting them to the kayak. I don't think I'll be fishing from a kayak, but I would think they would put up a decent fight from shore.

Land based Shark/Halibut fishing?! :o Sounds like a party to me!!! Of all my duty stations Camp Lejeune NC was the fishiest. The guys up there used to laugh at my 9ft custom bonefish/trout rod and Stradic 4000 and braid. They used 12ft surf rods and 30lb mono and like 6oz of lead  I used to freeline live fingermullet and catch the hell outta the redfish and trout. Gotta post some reports from up there if you get stationed up there!
