To be more exact the gear ration on lower speed. Lower the gear ration the easier can be cranked at lower speed heavy weight.
Overall, i just finished the tuneup for my okuma cavalla 20, that cost me $230 all together - the reel and the tuneup parts - where i can dead lift in lower gear by cranking 20lb weight - very easy, but i would most likely buy a raptor hx within a month.
Reels that comes with two speeds, are designed to be used in lower gear like a winch. This of course - eliminates all the start type reels from the list.

International (PENN) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

30 wide penn international same size. the one i have boghy

the 30w puts out basically the same drag as the Avet HX but is the same size as a 6/0 wide - not a 4/0 class reel

Really i thought it was the size as a 4/0 wide spool
