I caught this Thresher right off the coast of Belmar NJ while live lining a bunker during a Striper blitz. The fish was landed with 40lb mono and a cirlce hook.

actually, i wasn't kidding, one of the sharks Ive always wanted to catch was a thresher and i couldn't say that Ive caught anything that long ever (looked about 17 ft)... from your posts, so far your obviously a much better fisherman than I with many nice catches, like that fat tuna!

Oh and you are dead on, that shark was exactly 17 ft including tail of course!
