16/0 line capacity vs 14/0?

I was just wondering how much more line the 16/0 hold compared to the 14/0. You can find 14/0 on eBay for $300 all day long, but the only 16/0 I have seen were $600-1000. Is that added line capacity really worth that much more?

Thanks

And because I like helping people, i did alittle more research to give you more numbers to compare. The 16/0 holds 1270yds of 100lb mono and the 14/0 holds 950yds of 100lb mono.

Is it worth the extra money to buy a 16/0 over a 14/0 for the extra line capacity?

Thanks

16/0 Has More Space For Line And More Stoping Power Fighting A Shark. It Also Weights More When Filled With Line But Worth It. Hook A 12+ Hammer With A 14/0 And Then with A 16/0

Well I am looking at one for out hear in California where a White could (hopefully) show up anytime. I plan on using about 600 yds of 200 lb Slick 8 backing, I am guessing that I would want that extra capacity offered by the 16/0 for those bruisers.
Right?

Thanks

Ask Will, A Penn Senator 16/0 Would Be The Best Bet Against A White ;)

Craiglist, Or E-Bay The Only Place I've Seen Them. Unless You Get Lucky Enough And Someone Here Has One To Sell.

I fill my 16 an 14 with straight 200 mono. I lose a little yardage ( not much with smaller diameter 200) and I'm able to put that added pressure on the shark to get it turned. It's just your preference I'd get the 16 If you can find one and then a 14 later.

also 16/0 are starting to get harder to find then berfore and the ones you do find cost alot lot of money so i say buy the 16/0 keep it in tip top shape and in 20-30 yrs you can hand it down to your grand kids as a hierloom and it will be worth 1000's of dollars
