has anyone every used this and if so at what lb does it actually break at and since its hollow core does it flatten so you can fit more line on a reel or does it lessen the yardage

Power Pro is great stuff, all of it tests out over the rating. I sent the IGFA 130lb last winter and they tested the strength to be around 160lbs.

This is something what i said always when comes to purchase fishing lines, hooks, leaders - pretty much anything that goes in the water - IF you can't afford to LOSE ANYTHING that goes in the water DON'T BUY IT!
There is usually a "a way around" when comes to fishing and getting the same results. For instance - instead of using a hollow braided line, which are usually pricy, you can use a regular braided line - whatever brand you can afford, then make an FG Knot or Sebile Knot. They use SAME principle connection as any knotless knot that's usually used for hollow braid to connect mono topshots. You truly don't need to brake the bank to achieve same setups.

thats why im thinking of going solid...yea the 2500 yd spool of hollow jerry brown 130 is 375 where as 3000 yrd spool of 130 lb power pro is 640 and 200lb pp is 800 where as the 200 jerry brown is 495

Where you're getting these prices from, they seems to be off track - badly?
$299.99
Jerry Brown 130lb 2,500yds hollow http://www.charkbait.com/cs/cshL_Spectra.htm
..and many more.

This is just a side note from charkbait:

Power Pro - We are discontinuing this line based upon several factors. First, customer feedback which has been increasingly negative - probably more a factor of recognition that there are better products now on the market. Secondly, Power Pro has not kept up with newer innovations, contrast that with Cortland and Jerry Brown. And, finally, these guys are now owned by a nameless bike company which we don't support. To further understanding, we now have been led to understand that Power Pro will now move production overseas, using an inferior Spectra copy. They'll try to belatedly jump on Jerry Brown's innovations of hollow core, with a knock-off product. No innovation, just parasitic marketing. Nope, we won't stock the stuff, and suggest to our clients that their money is better spent with those firms that offer true innovation.

That makes sense then. Just a note - TackleDirect doesn't hold in they stock all the items that they sell on they website. I got burn with them couple of times were i had to wait more then 2 weeks from the day of the order to get my stuff. What's worse, if you buy say - two items - one that they have in stock and one that they don't have it in stock - they'll gonna hold on the item in stock till they'll gonna received the other one ordered by them, and only after that they'll gonna ship it to you. Lesson learned - good reason to move away from them!

I currently have powerpro but because i got great deals on it. Even then though I had a 1500yd spool of 50lb that was a bad batch or stored incorrectly in a warehouse, broke constantly. From now on I will go jerry brown or maybe try out tufline, as i know a few people really happy with it. Check out melton international as their braid prices are a few dollars cheaper (not sure on their shipping costs), and as boghy mentioned charkbait. They seem to be a great upfront company from everything ive seen around the forums. Also, if the 80w is going to be your largest reel that you put monster baits on then go 200, save the 100-130lb braid for a 50w
