Tarpon behind the seaquarium
I took a walk over from my work down the beach to the miami sea aquarium to try to catch my friend his first tarpon. They weren't hitting in the corner where we were fishing but I knew they were there. We fished there for like 15 mins and then I saw one of the aquarists who I help get fish for sometimes and he let me and my friend into the back area. I drop the bait from the back fence into the water and BOOM I've got one.. it didnt even sink an inch into the water. I hand it to my friend and he fights it. The tarpon turns out to be a little one around 40lbs and the aquarist wants it for one of the tanks so I lean down with a glove and bring it up. We rush it in a large cooler full of water to the tank and the tarpon now reside's in the sea aquarium's "shark channel". Heading back, its my time for a fish.. I drop a fish head in and once again BOOM I've got one. This one is definitely over 100lbs and it takes some real nice runs.. i dont have to much space to maneuver since I'm fighting out of a little opening in a fence.. so it ended up shredding my fishing line and I lost it... w/e next time... not bad for an hour of fishing
