20LB, what else is new?
They catch Giant Snakeheads that are some timesas big as 30LB here. Biggest I have seen in person is about 6LB. The guy who owns the local tackle shop has a picture of him with one that is easly 20LB.
WHOA!!!I didb't know they got that big,
That's a pretty scary thing to see, especially if they get established in Florida ,imagine that thing loose in canal or lake .
Yeah I thought they only hit about 8 or 10 MAX.
Are you in Thailand now BAT?
Ya, I come back the 15th of June after 10 months here.
Ya, the Giant Snakeheads get to like 40LB max and the Stripped Snakeheads get to about 10LB, but a 15Lb giant is a trophy and a 4Lb northern is a trophy.
I have already landed 2 Northerns over 4LB in two months fishing for them. One of them was the first day I went fishing for them. And no one thinks there are big fish in City rivers ![]()

Seems to be getting worse...
Just saw that, hopefully it stays on the East Coast. But I dought that, like the pythons in florida I am guessing these guys will move along the border west and into Mexico and maybe even one day will be in California. Luckly they cant survive cold water so they wont eat all the salmon stocks, but we can only hope for the warm water species.
I wasnt able to get the momma but I saw her. I got over 40 babies and the bass is eating about 3 a day.
When I get the big one, I'll use it for shark bait.
Your suppost to give it to the warden I think, if not, cook it. Snakehead is actually really good eating.
I have heard the snake heads are good eating from multiple sources. I am just iffy on eating them out of these local ponds and canals due to the quality of the water.
I dont know the specifics on what to do with the snakeheads once caught but I am pretty sure it is illegal to release them. Mine will be shark bait or shank'd. My buddy cuts their heads off.

In California the rule is that you must cut the head off of any invasive species, but I dont know about Florida. Definatly illegal to release them though.
Lost a couple snake heads recently but I just landed my first on rod n reel. Man these guys are fun fun fun. Jump like small tarpon, flop on the surface like a dolphin (mammal) and death roll like a crocodile!
This big boy is going out for shark bait. Anyone ever tried this before? I read about bulls on talapia so I guess a shark would eat anything that bleeds.

Also, I have netted two different schools of babies of different sizes. Now the babies eat the babies and the bass eats them all!

WTF, there is a monkey on your shoulder!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that is a really big Cobra Snakehead, I dont know what the record is, but you should cheak.
LOL, My roommate has a ring tailed lemur. His name is "Topper" (rightfully so)
He jumped on my shoulder to see what all the fuss was about when right when we were taking the pic. I think the state record is 12.6 lbs or 14.6 lbs.
I dont have a fish scale but I will weight myself and then weigh myself holding the fish and see what we come up with for fun. There is a bigger one in the pond I am going for too!
