Sebastian Cold Front SLAM -Oct 20th,2011

Any Florida saltwater fishermen that has never fished Sebastian Inlet is missing out on the BEST fishing spot in the entire state.I have fished Sebastian for many years as well as many other spots around the state and none compare with the fishing action of Sebastian during the mullet run.
Some of you may wish to contest what I am saying here and I respect your opinions but for s variety of species and amount of fish landed Sebastian inlet is the winner by a long shot.Let me just say that Sebastian Inlet produces not only the most fish but from one tide to the next the fish that are biting switches from one species to another,Take for example yesterday in the morning it was outgoing tide when we got there at 8 am ,the water was bay dark coming out and the hot bite was Snook up to 25 lbs busting pods of finger mullet on the north corner of the jetty like I have never seen,an invasion of Black drum up to 20 lbs being caught one after another, some scattered Redfish mixed in,an occasional Pompano and Flounder , and plenty of Jack Crevalles to keep the fishermen busy.In the afternoon when the tide switched the action was hot with the Redfish,Bluefish and Mackeral as the clean green water moved in the action on plugs and cut bait turned on quickly.
It was mayhem on the tip of of the congested jetty as many fishermen were fighting fish at the same time so landing big fish and staying tangle free took quick footwork and rodwork as multiple landing nets could be seen in the water at the same time. Most of the fishermen that fish Sebastian during the mullet run are seasoned veterans and work well together,,,, and most know what to expect (utter chaos).
Yesterday the rain we had in the southern half of Florida for the last week or so gone and with the first cold front in full effect the fishing was predicted to be exceptional and it certainly was. Here are a few pics of the action I wish I would of taken more but once in the mayhem of catching fish the camera is quickly forgotten.I was going to bring my shark rods and kayak but when the the forecast called for North East winds at 20 mph I knew it would be difficult at best to get baits out from the beach in this area with those conditions.
