Not a bad morning and a day full of firsts for me
Well me and my family headed to the keys to fish a dolphin tourney but on Friday we prefished and found that the bite was not here. there was a few schoolies around but no biggins so we decided to back out of the tourney witch was a great choice there was only 12 fish brought in to weigh in in 2 days of fishing. Well as for our fishing on Saturday my wife and I jumped in the boat at 6 am and I gunned it out to 1100' of water I put 2 Islanders out on the left and right riggers and 2 back on flat lines and started my troll at 7 knots. Well it was not long and I got my first strike on the left flat, it was a sail about 40-50 lbs. the sail jumped, jumped and jumped some more then is spun up in my main line and cut threw the line(That was my first ever sail). I rerigged and deployed a new islander, It was only about 10 mins. and I hit my first ever dolphin and in about 30 mins. I had 4 in the boat 2 bulls and 2 cows but they where schoolies. I trolled all the way back in to 160' and at 163' the red and black Wahoo Killer went screaming it was another first for me it took about 20 mins. to get the around 35 lb. wahoo to the boat I grab the gaff and I notice the fish was foul hooked I set the rod in the gunnel and grabbed the leader as soon as touched the leader as if I had hit a dehook button it was gone. Well at least I got 4 good shark baits.

This was our guest back at the boat slip
