Permit were biting pretty good in April, but have been off this month as they are mostly spawning on the wrecks. Got this 14 lbr and a bunch more hookups during one weekend of fishing the tourney. Also got this 22 lb jewfish, I got it on 12 lb straight mono while fishing the pilings for mangroves. I dropped one shrimp down and it got nailed, and broke me off on the piling. Dropped another one down again and I was ready for it, the sucker took me under 30 feet down the bridge under 4 different pilings, I opened the bail up and gave him slack and he came out of each one. Been catching some nice mangroves and yellow jacks too, my girlfriend got this 18" last week, her first big one.

Nice fish Rory. I have never fished any of the bridges down in the keys. Next time i make it down to florida thats something i want to do for sure. Looks like so much fun with all the species you can catch, including sharks!
