Jensen Beach July 16-17

Got out yesterday morning with the boat and at the ramp we ended up having a alarm go off that wouldn't let us start the boat. After trying to solve the problem for a few hours we found out the kill switch had been unplugged so we learned a lesson and offshore we went. We stopped to get bait on a nearshore reef and try some bottom fishin. My dad got a 45 lb goliath and I got a snook a little over 36". After that we went out to 80' and found a nice rip that we trolled. We ended up getting 3 kings in that rip. It was interesting how all the fish hit my planar and not the top rods. I was kinda scratchin my head at where the sails and dolphin were. After we ran out of ballyhoo's and the fish didn't want hardware we went back to the nearshore reef and to make it short I personally put 4 hooks in a 350lb goliaths mouth before we left. Since we were right over the structure the goliath didn't have to go far to snap me off on a 20ft tall something in 35' of water. My dad also caught a 30" cobia which when we tossed back I said "that's goliath candy" and a few seconds later the cobia went airborne right next to the boat with the goliath right behind it. Today we had to make it a short day and my father and I brought my sister and her friend. We got out into 100' when we found another rip and weedline. We ran out of ballyhoo in 45mins since there were so many kingfish takin baits right behind the hook. But I got a huge bonita, my sister got a king, and my sisters friend got a little bonita before we ran out of baits and again the fish didn't want hardware or bonita belly strips. We headed in and the played with bonitas on a reef having triples on several times. I would of kept more than 2 bonita for shark bait, but my mom yells at me for every one I keep in the frezer or fridge.
