My two sons,my nephew ,there girlfriends and some friends showed up at my place in Key Large saturday night and they were having a good ole time drinking and listening to there loud music but they wanted to wake up early and go fishing the next morning,,,,,,,,,sure Bob!!!They showed up the next morning late of course and we left from Harry Harris park out to search the deep blue water for pelagics(dolphin, tuna, wahoo).Nine people on my 27 footer is not how i'm used to fishing but what the heck I figured I show the kids a good time although I was concerned about someone getting seasick because the wind was gusting to 20 mph.
We anchored up by a marker and my commercial fisherman buddy Tony castnetted all the ballyhoo we needed and with livewell full we headed out to deep water.

the boat and crew at the ramp

We spot a weedline and start trolling it with an artificial and a livey ballyhoo but the weedline fades out to nothing so we run and gun out lookingf for something more substancial. We then spot some frigate birds and we motor over and find a 10 foot long log floating and triple tails under it but offcourse these young ones are still half buzzed from the night before and not ready for the moment with a chunk of fresh ballyhoo or jig to toss .So we throw in the chum bag and as always I'm having to bark out orders to get things done and steer the boat not too close to the log.Tony who is the best fisherman on the boat knows just what to do drops a live ballyhoo below the the log and hooks up with a nice dolphin while the drunk squad stumbles around trying to steady themselves and figure what rod to use and what bait.My son Danny messing around on the stern of the boat slips and falls into the water with glasses and rod still in hand,,,,,everyone laughs at him and we're tossing chunks of ballyhoo while he's attempting to board again.

Danny after his splash-in

this dolphin was munched on by an unseen shark that we tried to bait but never returned

We had a nice day on the water but 9 people on a boat is not the ideal situation for chasing fish.We caught dolphin, grouper, yellowtail and loaded up on speedos and ballyhoos for future fishing trips. That night back at my place I prepared my sashimi/sushi special for the sunburned crew who gobbled it all up eagerly. They found out later that i mixed in fresh speedo chunks with the tuna but there were no complaints they were just glad to be off the tossing boat and back on shore.

I prepare the spices ,the garnish and prepare the feast for the hungry bait eaters

I'm sure it was very tough fishing with the crowd on the boat, however I would take that over not having a family to spend a great weekend with in the keys. :D
