So, im going fishing out of haulover inlet on Saturday with conditions or 5-10 mph of wind , planing on going about 4-8 miles out and i was looking to catch some Bonito, Kingfish , and anything else that i could catch out there! Would it be good to troll with rigged ballyhoo ? Or i should get artificials ?? If so, what should i buy?
Thanks ! :?: ;) :D :!: :?:

I fish out of Fort Lauderdale a lot. We get a lot of fish in like 120-220 feet of water using live pilchards or goggle eyes. We just free line them and catch all types of nice fish: sails, kings, wahoo, dolphin, etc. When im trolling I like to put out a little bit of everything. artificial(like a dolphin feather rig), naked ballyhoo, and skirted ballyhoo. I put like 4 lines out and see what's getting hit that day. If you are going out 4-8 miles you probably will have better luck trolling and covering a lot of water. You can troll a small skirt on the way out of the inlet for bonito. The small skirts also work for tuna out farther. Good luck!

I would say about 500 feet or so. My buddy got 11 sails a week ago on kites using live bait in only 90 to 120 feet of water. You might get some dolphin out in the depth you are thinking about going to. Let us know how you do!
