FP 6/4/14
Well Erika and I decided to drive up to our spot tonight and it paid off. We had a great dinner at Outback on the way up, grabbed some gotchas at Wally World, and started looking for bait around 10 PM. The ladyfish were few and far between tonight, but the mullet were plentiful. Most were in castnet range so I took full advantage. I didn't get to test out my new 12/0 tonight for lack of bait. I managed to land and release my personal best snook. Not sure on length, but he slammed a freelined mullet under the bridge. A buddy I met out there managed this nice cownose as well. I'm pumped to get him out on the 12/0. All in all, it was a great short trip. Met some great guys from Lakeland out there and I am eager to get back at it. The guys from Lakeland hooked two goliaths but couldn't turn them---still awesome to see. Next time I'll score better bait and end up taking a sweet picture with my first Goliath.
Enjoy the pictures.
