What's up guys I just got certified for scuba diving and can't wait to do some spear fishing. Does anyone know of some group charters in south Florida or keys that can assist me? Thanks guys I can't wait, oh yeah how is the spear fishing in jan and feb?
The spearfishing during December ,January and even February can be be just as productive as the summer months but it may mean having to use a good wet suit to keep body temp comfortable .Go out when there has been a warming trend not after a cold front because the reef fish will be hard to find.Please be very careful where you spearfish in the Keys there are many protected zones and you cannot spearfish within three miles of the coast unless you are SOUTH of the Long Key bridge.My advice would be to stop at a local dive shop while in the keys and learn all the FWC laws that pertain to spearfishing down there because the fines and penalyties can be pretty stiff.
ALWAYS dive with a buddy NEVER alone .
