set up by 6 and left at about 10 during slack and the beginning of the incoming tide. had 6 pickups, 4 hook-ups and caught 2. my problem is hook sets, i lost another really nice shark today and no matter how long i let them eat it or how long a run up the beach the bigger fish keep popping the hook

the hooks in your last pic look a bit small for the big guys!
I have fished circle hooks for many years and the best ones that get the job done is the Owner Super MUTU 12/0, 14/0 and 16/0
mustad 12/0 j and some heavier wire possibly, when you reeled back in your riggings did you get any wire back or did you get everything back or did you lose your whole riggings?

Last night caught another small blacktip and lost another big fish- I was hooked up for 2 or 3 minutes and it felt like a big jewfish 
got some 14/0 mustads and 19 wire for tonight and hopefully some Fresh mullet
The rigs I've been using consists if 2 owner 10/0 on 15 wire and after losing a few nice fish I stopped using the circles so I'm runnin out of ideas
try 49 strand cable or some #19 wire and bigger hooks 20/0 circles or some big j hooks go big or go home jk
