Anglin's pier Dec 6/2008
We scheduled to do a little pier fishing with some of the guys in the shark club and the kids on saturday morning. When we got there it was a lovely day ,flat calm water and blue skies were in order.Julio(lsharkboy50) and his son Justin were the first ones from our group to arrive and they called the rest that were under way and reported the fishing slow with flat calm water.By the time i got to the pier around 8 am Nick(flasharkhunter) and his two kids were allready there soaking a line.Much later that morning Greg(Mojo) and his two girls arrived as we were almost done with our slow day of fishing.Well the weather was beatiful but the lack of bait fish and calm waters were an ingredient for slow fishing. The guys put out a few shark rods a 9/0 with a live moonfish, and one other rod with a frozen but there were no takers. On the T someone had a chum bag down and the parrot fish, the trumpet fish and the butterfish were having a feast and could be easily seen right below the surface. Also having a feast with the chum bag the ballyhoo were plentiful and being caught with a small gold hook and a bobber but even that was not enticing a bluefish, mackeral, kingfish, snapper or a stray cobia to bite.A few macks were caught by the shack using strips for bait and other then that it was mostly doctor fish, some moonfish caught on the sabikis and 1 blue runner that was caught on the T. It was a great day to call south Florida home with lovely weather and good friends to kick it with but other then that on this day the fishing left much to be desired. Thanks to all that came out and spent the day with us.
