WTB Harnell or Harrington Rod
The Redington boys are usually swapping 540's and 542's sometimes a 550 but usually Tarpon rods. Not thinking you would get a 16/0 on those sticks but thats a good place to keep an eye on though. Betts Tackle has a built full length Harrington 555 with horrible all different color underwraps but last time I checked they wanted $800 for it. Also, those guys are idiots there but if you want the rod bad enough its there, and they're not budging on the price so its not going anywhere fast. They're located in Largo. Cool vids on youtube btw.
I have found two Harnells over the past two years and I've been looking hard.
Pawn shops, fishing consignment shops, & ebay.
I have a 80-Unlimited Gator Glass and it's awesome with the 16 0.
But they stopped making them.
I've seen the 80-130 gator/blackfin and it's not the same.
I mean it should be fine with a 16 0 with 125lb mono or 150lb.
for $100 it's a great blank.
The Harnell I have can't hold the 16 0.
I have a 9 0 on one and 12 0 on the other.
Fenwick made some serious rods but the are all around 7-8ft and solid glass.
But I see them everywhere.
Theirs A Guy Whos In Jacksonville On Craiglist Who Has A Harnell, I Know He Had 2 Old Style Harnells On 16/0 Along With A Whole Bunch Of Old Fashion Finors And Other Reels With Rods, I Belieave He Sold One Of The Harnells, But Dont Know If He Still Has The Other His Cell Number Is On His Craiglist Page. If Its Any Help Check It Out. ![]()
