Ultimate 16/0 Combo
I have the ULTIMATE 16/0 package that I am selling. It is in like new condition with no corossion, scratches, etc. It may have a few general light scratches but not really noticiable. It also has a few things upgrades like a stainless steel pinion gear and gear sleeve. The pinion gear has always been the weak link on these because they are made of a soft brass/bronze from the factory. It has new drags and has been fully serviced by me with Penn and Cal's grease. When I serviced it and changed the line the spool and internals was like new with no corossion. It has 1100 yards of 130 line that has been fished once. Like I said this reel is in like new condition. It has been washed with fresh water after each use and covered with a reel and rod cover. Only thing missing is the box.
The rod is a custom C&H Lure rod with Finnor Tycoon roller guides. It has a Aftco straight butt and Aftco tip. The guides alone were $800.00 when new when Finor was still making them.
This is a once in a lifetime type package because you all know that they dont make the 16/0 anymore nor do they make the Finnor guides. On top of that everything is in like new condition with little to no wear. What looks like a film on the rod and reel is condensation from taking it outside for pics.
I will only talk to serious buyers on this package. It is not cheap and no need to waste my time or yours. I will also give you a phone # to call me if you like.
$1700.00 for the package including shipping to CONUS only. Payment by PP gift option only.
PRICE LOWERED $1500 SHIPPED
I also have a 12/0 combo in similar condition I will take $400.00 shipped for. Same shipping and payment requirments.
Hoogan,
I bought it all at Lowes Hardware in the nut and bolt section. The washers, lock washers, etc are stainless. The caps come in different colors depending on size. All my rigs are setup this same way. I learned my lesson when I messed up the threads on a rig a few years back and had a tough time getting the bolts off. Also if you notice their is rubber under all the clamped areas.
I take VERY good care of all my gear and pay attention to everything.
are you going to list it no-reserve,or a buy-now price,or is just going to be viewed with-out a bid,
What is that supposed to mean? Not sure I understand your question. Yes I will offer a "buy it now" and yes it will have a reserve. I couldnt tell you if it is going to get a bid or not until the auction ends.
rjt, sorry if i steped on your'e feelings, about you're ultimate combo, you might think that it is but other's might see it different, what i ment was that if you put it on it the way you did you won't see to manny bid's,the best i seen sold is around $800 for the reel, you might not get what you want for the rod,and for a bit of knowledge,(hoogan)a brand new reel on the wall collecting dust is worth about $800,the 16/0 that blacky or norman used to catch there shark's PRICELESS.if you owne virging tackle you ain't cought didly.Take it to the beach and melt that drag.that's what it was intended for.anyway rtj i opened up bidding for you good luck.

Thanks, I think.
I guess you missed the comment by a Team Redneck member. "damn i wish i had money. that is a very beautiful set up. good luck with the sale." Obviously some folks thinks the price is fine if they "had the money". I guess you also missed I said I would consider "reasonable offers".
Like I said if it dosent sell I really dont care either way. I have it, its paid for, it dosent eat a thing, I have a son that will get it when I am gone.
A like new reel is worth around $800 to $1000 (or what someone is willing to pay) thats not including the upgrades and the line. The rod would cost you over a 1k to have built (I know I have checked before I bought this one) To build this rod just using all Aftco parts would cost you around $600.00 just in materials before labor. That is building it with Aftco and Fin-Nor is/was much more expensive. So I think my price is fair. Is it a "deal"? Nope, but it is fair for what it is.
Again thanks, I think.......
If you are in the Tampa area let me know and we can do some fishing. My wife is from Tampa and we go down often.
