Stella 5000FA+GLoomis Pro Blue
I was considering trying to trade my Shimano Stella 5000FA with "power handle", stock handle, and reel cover, on a GLoomis Pro blue PBR844S 7foot 15-30lb Fast Action combo for a 14/0 or 16/0 or just about anything bigger than a 12/0. Am I crazy? The Stella FA's are all over the place in price on ebay but Im unsure really of its value. I got it in trade, both rod and reel are VERY lightly used. Tackle direct lists the Loomis at $255. Should I hold on to it and fish it? Its kind of in between everything I use. Kinda wanna try to get a big tipper on it lol. Beautiful combo but Im not sure what to do with it, a lil light for shark but a lil heavy for flats fishing or Bass. Perfect docklight rod but I dont docklight fish anymore. Any advise guys? Or trade offers? Thanks in advance. ~Ray~
I had a stella 5000sw and it sold within 3 days on craigslist for 500$ and was in good condition (few scratches). I have seen the FAs sell for 375-425$. I'd suggest listing them separately as they will sell much faster. My 5000 caught a 60lb Goliath, and a few 4-5foot sharks with 30lb ultracast. For sharking you need a 10000sw or larger really, for the line capactiy. My old 20000sw I caught a few sharks over 8ft on it.
Thanks, I was thinking about seperating em but for some reason you cant get much for rods on craigslist unless it has a lil fish logo and says Harnell lol. Was just seeing if I could trade for something I can use more often. Been wanting a 14/0-16/0 for a while now, just cant afford them yet. Thanks for your input man, greatly appreciated. Maybe Ill just list as firm $ and if it doesnt sell it wont hurt me any.
