Whats a good shark rod to buy off the shelf? looking to put my TRX or my 14/0 on it and i would like to buy it online. If you have some nice rods i would be willing to trade a Remington 1100 for it if its nice enough.

Talked to IGFA... they do not certify any rods, it is just a gimmick, not saying the rods are bad... they just do not have IGFA certification.

Just an average fisherman.

I'm not really sure if, by "a good shark rod" you also meant "the best", but knowing you, based on previously posts, you're pretty much a fan of crazy drags.
If you're looking for a rod that can dead lift 100lb, then here you have it:
http://www.charkbait.com/cs/charkbait-rods11.htm
go all the way down on the page and look for CP 40XOSWO-UB-SB 5'6" . It's not cheap, but your trx will be put to the test with that rod.
That rod uses one of the best blank in the business that's commercially available.
Not that many people know about "United Composites" since they only start manufacturing blanks "IN USA" from september last year, but i'm sure you heard about GUSA aka "Graphite USA" - United Composites purchase GUSA and start producing much better blanks then GUSA. Again - Made in USA! Toke them about 2 years just to setup all the machines for they blank production line.

i think when they say igfa certified all it means is it meets the igfa specs like length, and all that. so if you were to get a record sized fish you would get it and not have the record and then have it taken away because the rod is 71 inches instead of 72 inches or what ever there thing is.
