I need a 9/0 or a 12/0 preferably with rod and a chrome spool, if it's not a chrome spool that's fine.

Do the new 9/0's have a chrome spool or do the old ones?

I have owned both.
I like the new 9/0.
Its drag is stronger and smoother.

The older ones have the chrome spool which is brass if I am not mistaken and the newer black spools are aluminum.

The new ones are black anodized aluminum. The older models are chrome spool.

I know someone selling a brand spanking new 12/0 for $250. The reel has never been fished nor has it ever been spooled with line. Brand new for $250. Let me know if you are interested.
