My son and I are getting into beach fishing. We are looking at purchasing 2 kayaks sit on top ones so we can go about a mile offshore and fish in our group. Does anyone know of a good brand that is fairly reasonably priced. we our selling our jon boat for about 1300 so i will have about 1000 dollars to spend on two any help would be appreciated. thank you

For that price range you could get 2 ocean kayaks, you can get just about any size you would like and Ocean kayaks are one of the best kayaks out there for the price.

If you are going that far out, I would suggest atleast a 14'...

how old is your son? You may want to get a tandem yack if he is a little guy.
