Hey everyone, I have the florida sportsmans back issued all the way to florida tropic and sportsman issue#1 in order and bindered up to 1989. I also have all the 1990-2003 unbindered. I have read these magazines a couple times each since I was a little kid. This forum and fisherman have HISTORY that separates us from your usual fishing forums. If anyone wants to purchase these magazines from me il part from them for a dollar a piece but im not breaking up the 69-89 binders. These really are incredible and Il hang onto them if I need too,my brother told me about some of you older ladies and gentleman that most likely are in alot of the back issues and cant find the issue ever again. Thanks for the post .Most of us older sharkers on this site grew up reading the only and best fishing magazine in the state back in the 70's and 80's they had no real competition except Saltwater Sportsman but that publication covered many states not just Florida.. The "Florida Sportsman" had an occasional article on land-based shark fishing throughout the years but I always felt they did not go deep enough into the subject none the less in Florida, it was the magazine to read in those times.They sometimes mentioned a big sharks being caught at different spots like Sebastian Inlet and other times they mentioned big fish being devoured by a huge tiger shark or a tarpon that got ate by a big hammerhead. I always searched out all the articles looking for reference to sharks and shark fishing,,,there was no internet back then so this was the best place to search for local reports from anywhere in Florida including the panhandle. I personally have a collection of the old articles but not as extensive as the one you offer here sir.Good luck and thanks for sharing with us.

Mega_Bite, a lot of searching around led me to this forum and your thread. I would really like to come look through the 1989/1990 issues you have in order to see if I can find an advertisement for my boat (1990 Aquasport Osprey 175, Florida-made fishing boat).
