Looking to build a rod for my 12/0, I'm now using a Star DLX35H but its just a bit too "whipy" for 125lb test. Prefer a longer blank but am not really picky. Gonna be first Shark rod build. Have built a few Tarpon rods and one light spinner. I don't make much money so I'm on a tight budget just seeing if any of the guys have a blank laying around that they don't really need and could sell cheap. Maybe even a rod that the guides are all broken off or something but can be rebuilt? Or maybe just some advise where to start looking? I watch the fleamarkets closely but rarely see any heavy bigdog rods. Someone told me to insert a dowel rod inside the blank of my DLX35H to stiffen it up. Wouldn't that just break or cause the rod to break at the start of the dowel since its not tapered? I'm in Pinellas County by the way, I cant drive really far due to not trusting my Jeep.

Is it a stripped blank? Or a full rod needing to be rebuilt, or a fishable rod as is? Also whereabouts are ya located bro? And of course, how much ya looking to get for it? Like I said keep in mind Im not a rich man. I just picked up a wrecked rod that needs to be completely rebuilt but that is gonna take a while and its a lil short for my taste.
OK i have a deal for you. I have a 8'6'' blank (was originally 10' made for a tackle shop by a company called black fin)with a inner sleeved butt extension from were the reel seat goes down. also i was going to put a gimbal on this rod so i put a smaller peace of a blank in the bottom to fit the gimbal. Now it is a 50-80lb with a size 30 tip. I already have eva's and guides for it but no reel seat. The bottom eva is already on it 14'' and the top eva not on yet is 12''. The guides are MILDRUM rollers 2stripers or double rollers and 3rollers. Plus roller tip. I was saving this rod to build an old school themed rod for a second 12/0 that i no longer have. ill sell you everything together (not willing to brake it up) for 75$ you'll just need a reel seat, thread and apoxi to finish it
